1980 "FWB Kunststofftechnik GmbH", short for "Formen- und Werkzeugbau" - mould making and tool manufacture - was founded by Manfred Schmidt. The company produces accessories for shoes such as heels, toe caps or counters.
Also in 1980, FWB set up an own tool shop.
1989 Production of technical plastics parts started (white goods – household appliances)
1997 The first two-component parts were produced for the automotive industry (air conditioning systems, hand wheels, flaps; white goods – adjusting knobs)
1999 First order received: production of complex two-component injection moulding parts using core-back process
2000 Substantial sales increase thanks to several big orders placed by Hella (accelerators), Johnson Control (E-class car interiors) and Magna Donnelly (wing mirrors)
2001 Move to new production facilities
2002 Turnover exceeded 10 million euros with more than 100 employees
2004 FWB was successfully certified according to TS 16949. Turnover is 13 million euros with 121 employees.
2006 Development of the fuel cell started
2007 Development of the LED lens made of plastic started
2008 FWB set up an own automation technology department
2009 First series production project started: fully automated insert moulding of contact elements
2011 StVZO approval (German law) for the bike lamp
FWB was honoured with the "Top 20 Werkzeugbau" award
2012 Construction of our logistics center with a total area of ca. 2.200m²
2014 FWB was honoured with the "Pro Fachkraft" award
2015 Construction of another production hall with a total area of ca. 1.000m²
FWB was honoured with the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" award
2017 FWB was honoured with the "Top Innovator 2017" award
